The
VC21 series (powered by the popular Freescale Semiconductor 266MHz ARM926EJ-S™
i.MX21 processor) is based on the stackable VCMX212 single board computer,
less than half the size of a business card. This computer can be used as
a standalone device or enhanced by any number of our daughter boards. Everything
from cameras, touch screen LCDs, sound cards, solar panels, GPS, Bluetooth,
FPGA, ethernet, USB, motor controllers and memory cards can be stacked
together to quickly develop your application.
This
unique COG adds two useful RF modules to the VC21 stack. First, a BlueTooth
v2.0 module allows communication between your VC21 stack and any other
Bluetooth compliant device. It has a 100m line of site range and an integrated
antenna. A PCM interface also allows the i.MX21 to directly access a voice
quality audio channel with no protocol overhead. An internal software stack
emulates a standard modem but native HCI access is available as well.
Secondly,
a high sensitivity GPS receiver allows the addition of positioning information
to your project and even works in many indoor environments. The GPS receiver
is based on the SiRF StarIII high performance chipset that is WAAS capable.
It outputs a SiRF binary or NMEA protocol. An external active antenna connects
via an MMCX connector.
Companion
board for the VC_VCMX212 product.
