PCD Command-line C Compiler for PIC24 Family and dsPIC^®  DSC

The Story:
Way back in 1995, we suggested to CCS that they distribute their compilers via an Internet download, and not have silly International Courier Fees, Import Taxes, Customs Fees, then double up on many of these charges for world wide distribution. We have used the Internet Download method of software delivery for many years for other software houses, as our customers well know. Finally CCS have allowed us to do just this.

International Customs Duty and Taxes:
Dontronics is an Australian Based Company, and as such, we can't charge European VAT, any US state taxes, or any other country tax for that matter, on any packages we ship, or files we deliver via the web, as there is no world wide mechanism for making these charges. It means if  you purchased a web downloaded file from us, we can't charge you any additional taxes such as VAT.

Australians and  GST:
Australian Businesses will be able to claim back any GST as a Tax Input Credit. Private individuals, ask us for the 10% discount coupon, as this will reduce the price of all CCS compilers by 10%, which means you are paying much the same amount as the rest of the world, so there is no need to work around Dontronics, and buy from an international dealer, just to get the Australian 10% GST free pricing.

PCD Command-line compiler supports the Microchip PIC24 family and dsPIC family of devices. Popular PIC24 parts include PIC24FJ128GA006 and PIC24HJ128GP306 or from the dsPIC family the dsPIC30F4012 and dsPIC33FJ128GP706.

Compiler includes a complete library of 300-plus Built-in Functions and over 130 External Peripheral Drivers as well as more than 130 Example Programs for highly optimized code. Useful source code libraries for RS232, LCDs, HID, USB, SPI, I2C, Capacitive-Touch libraries and more will aid in starting projects quickly and efficiently. There are additional drivers supported in PCH for Realtime clock, CAN, TCP/IP and CDC.

PCD supports all the standard C operators and built-in functions, but also has advanced features that is only available to PIC24/dsPIC devices such as 48 and 64-bit Floating Point for calculations requiring greater precision or broader ranges. Convenient functions like #BIT , #BYTE and #WORD allow C variables to be placed at absolute addresses to map registers to C variables. PCD has enhanced oscillator control to choose from a multitude of clock sources, PLL and power saving options. Function recursion allows for interactive processing algorithms.
Command-line compilers may be run from a DOS prompt or be integrated into MPLAB^® IDE or other Microchip Third Party environments.
