Do
you have a Product Catalogue?
These
web pages are our Product Catalogue. There is no printed material, disks
or CD-ROM. Our website is continually updated with the latest information
and current stock situations whereas a printed Catalogue quickly becomes
out of date.
How
can I tell if you have the item I wish to order in stock?
If
you try ordering the maximum amount from the drop down box on the product
page in the shopping cart, it will show you the total number we have in
stock.
Across
our product range, this statement is about 80% correct.
Some
items won't be an accurate count due to the difficulty of making this count
because of the numbers involved, or the method of storage, such as IC's
in reels, etc.

I
can't find this electronic item on your website, or can you source it for
me?
These
web pages are our Product Catalogue. There is no printed material, disks
or CD-ROM. Our website is continually updated with the lastest information
and current stock situations whereas a printed Catalogue quickly becomes
out of date.
Can
you design this for me?
We
no longer do any design work unless it is to enhance the SimmStick range.
Have a look at the News Groups but be warned,
if you send an un-announced attachment your chances of getting an answer
not only from Dontronics, but from any newsgroup or chat group, is virtually
zilch!
Can
you help me with my project?
Sorry,
we can't find the time for this work. There is a big range of user
groups, and list servers than offer self help for project designs.
Have a look at
chat.html for some of
these.
Can
you use my hardware project and possibly add it to your range of goods?
Our
greatest problem selling for international designers / manufacturers these
days is that of Australian Customs and duties payable. We spend so many
hours doing battle with them that we have now decided not to import hardware
at all. Double postage on goods also doesn't make sense either.
If your project has a strong bond to what we are about such as SimmStick,
then we would like to hear from you.
We
can do a drop-ship deal on some hardware items. That is, we
list the item on our web pages and sell it for the manufacturer, who then
ships it to the customer directly from their premises. If you wanted to
try drop-shipping direct from you to the customer, and you can do postage
at a realistic universal world wide price, then we could certainly have
a look at this.
Would
you like / want to exchange a link with me?
We
love Logo Links, but a standard link is fine
- and we don't mind if you're a competitor either. Like we say, if
they don't know about either of us, they can't purchase.
Just
two conditions:
-
If you
promise to exchange a link, it must be done within in a few days. We have
waited and checked sites for months in the past waiting for a link to be
connected. If you can't do this, please don't ask for a link exchange.
-
You must
use the dontronics.com address, or sub directory page. We have so many
links to the old Labyrinth address, it will wander around the web for centuries.
I
am a competitor. Why would I want to sell my product through Dontronics?
We
look at our website as a niche market 'department store'. People
come to visit. If they pass through the front desk sales and go into
the individual shop to purchase, then we feel we will both win eventually,
as customers will return to our 'department store' sooner or later looking
for something else.
Any
new product added to our range is always promoted through several channels
such as our Newsletter, SimmStick user group, and the news groups.
Web-downloaded software is our specialty. We would prefer not to
handle hardware at all unless it can be drop-shipped, that is, sent directly
from the manufacturer to the customer.
The
main reason for no longer importing goods is the antiquated Australian
Customs Department methods of doing business. We can sit for hours waiting
for goods to be processed through Australian Customs, then we have to pay
import duties plus 10% GST tax, which is claimed back after 3 months.
It is simply not worth the time and money to import goods. We do
support any SimmStick related hardware in most cases.
