Estimated Delivery Times

Most hardware orders shipped from Australia are generally packaged and posted on the next business day following receipt of your order.  If an item is currently out of stock, this is advised on the Product Information page.  If there is a shipping delay for any reason whatsoever, you will be notified by email.

All goods are sent through standard International Air Mail unless you select and pay for ECI International Courier Express on Checkout.

There is no form of International tracking with standard Air Mail. If you want this option, you will need to select ECI Courier.

Orders received for products shipped from locations other than Dontronics in Melbourne are forwarded on to the relevant supplier, and an email advising of this is also sent to all customers.

Parcels to New Zealand take around 4-6 days, and to the United Kingdom and the USA will take around 7-10 days.  Packages can take 8-14 days to arrive in Europe.   Canadian Customs can delay delivery by up to a week so please allow 3 weeks for delivery to Canada.  Deliveries to South Africa usually take around 2 weeks and at times may take 3 to 4 weeks, but we don't know why. Deliveries to Phillipines can take up to 6 weeks. Deliveries to Israel take about 21 days. Deliveries to India can vary greatly from 2 weeks to 2 months.  Some South American countries can also take 2 months. These estimated tiimes can vary dramatically.

Orders for goods sent from other locations around the world are forwarded to the relevant manufacturer / designer for processing as soon as we receive your order.  There may be a one or two day delay before your goods are despatched as some allowance has to be made for time zone differences. We normally quote 8 to 14 days for delivery for goods from different parts of the world to various locations.  It also depends on your local mail service and Customs.

We ask any customers from Mexico to please contact us prior to ordering as we have in the past had difficulties in getting  packages to arrive safely in Mexico.

Please remember, the above times are estimates only and at times goods will arrive sooner than even we expect.  You can see comments from customers regarding delivery at Customers Feedback.  These are real comments from real people.
 

Postal Charges

Select this option if the products you are purchasing do not have shipping costs included in the purchase price, and you do not require Express Delivery. This is our most common standard charge for postage. We will complete and attach Customs Declaration Forms to all international packages. Please see Estimated Delivery Times for approximate delivery guidelines. There is no form of International tracking with standard Air Mail. If you want this option, you will need to select ECI Courier.

Unfortunately we have to pay an extra $9AUD for every package that is above 453 Grams (16 Ounces) to the US. If your package is over the 16 Ounces, we will ask you for the extra $9AUD.

To give you an idea of the weight of SimmStick Boards:
10 by 1" boards is 54 grams.
10 by 2" boards is 108 grams.
Packaging is around 50 grams.

Maximum weight before the $9AUD surcharge kicks in is 453 Grams, or 16 Ounces.

Free Postage?

When to select 'Free Shipping' on Checkout:

• Products with Shipping charges included in the cost of the product
• If shipping charges are included in the cost of the product you are purchasing, and this is the only item you are ordering, then you can select the "Free shipping" option on Checkout.
• When ordering more than one product and all items are shipped from Dontronics in Melbourne, Australia - when any one of the products has shipping charges included in the cost, then select "Free Shipping" on Checkout.

• Web-downloaded Software
• When ordering web-downloaded software, please select the 'Free Shipping' option on Checkout.

Tracking Numbers

Unless you select ECI International Express Courier on Checkout, all goods are sent via standard international Air Mail.  These are not given a Tracking Number so we are unable to provide tracking numbers for any package sent by this method.

ECI International Courier Express Delivery - $65 AUD
If you wish to have your order shipped by International Courier, we use the Australia Post ECI International Courier Express.  ECI International Courier Express is available for selection during Checkout.  This is only available for goods shipped directly from Dontronics in Australia.  If goods are sent from a location outside of Australia, then this service is not available.

Dontronics does not use FedEx, DHL or UPS Courier services even if you provide us with your Courier Account Number, as the paperwork we have to fill out for these Courier companies takes a lot of time and effort on our part. We simply don't have the resources to be available for courier pick-ups, etc.

Goods should arrive to most countries in 4 to 6 days.  These packages are web-trackable so if the package takes longer than expected to arrive, please let us know and we will check its progress on the internet and advise you. Now you can check it yourself: "Click here"

International Customs Duty and Taxes

Australia Post - Standard Mail: $6.60 AUD within Australia
Select this option if the product you are purchasing does not have shipping costs included in the purchase price, and you do not require Express Delivery.

Goods are posted via Standard Mail via Australia Post.  The estimated delivery time provided by Australia Post is 1-3 days to most destinations within Capital cities.  It may be 3-5 days to Perth, Cairns and other regional centres, and 4-5 days to Darwin.

You will be advised by email as soon as your order has been processed and shipped. Standard Mail packages are not given a Tracking Number so we are once goods are posted, it's in the hands of Australia Post.
 

Australia Post Express Delivery Options

Australia Post - Yellow Overnight Bag: $13.20 AUD within Australia
Shipping by Australia Post Express Overnight Bag delivery is available for selection during Checkout and costs $12 AUD plus GST.

All orders received before 12:00 Noon EST will be packaged and shipped on the same day as they were received.  Any order received after 12:00 Noon will be packaged and posted the following morning. Check the Shipping Schedule

Please note that this is a service provided through Australia Post and 'Overnight Delivery' is limited to capital cities (with the exception of Darwin) and postcodes as shown on the back of the Overnight Bag.  It may still be two days before some postcode locations will receive their goods.

Australia Post - Web Trackable Platinum Overnight Bag: $22.00 AUD within Australia
Shipping by Australia Post Web Trackable Platinum Express Overnight Bag delivery is available for selection during Checkout and costs $20 AUD plus GST.

All orders received before 12:00 Noon EST will be packaged and shipped on the same day as they were received.  Any order received after 12:00 Noon will be packaged and posted the following morning.

Please note that this is a service provided through Australia Post and 'Overnight Delivery' is limited to capital cities (with the exception of Darwin) and postcodes as shown on the back of the Overnight Bag.  It may still be two days before some postcode locations will receive their goods.

Import Customs Duty and Taxes

The following information has been obtained from the Australian Government, Australian Customs and Border Protection Service website.

If you arrange for goods to be brought into Australia, you are regarded by Customs as the importer of those goods. This includes purchases made over the Internet, regardless of whether or not you intend to sell or distribute those goods, own a business and if the goods are for your personal use or a gift for someone else. Your imported goods may arrive in Australia either by airfreight, express courier, sea cargo or via the post office. The method of delivery will determine the Customs clearance formalities and charges. Customs advises people purchasing goods over the Internet to be aware that, when those goods arrive in Australia, they will be subject to Customs controls. Certain goods brought into Australia require an import permit. Customs might seize or detain such goods pending presentation of the permit. Alternatively, the goods might be a prohibited import and not allowed into the country under any circumstance.

All goods (except for tobacco products and alcoholic beverages) may be imported duty and tax free if their value is $1,000 or less.

Note: However, where there are multiple packages to the same addressee in Australia from a single consignor overseas that arrive at about the same time, then the value of all packages will be combined for duty and tax assessment purposes.
